After several years living and working in NYC, I fell in love with seeing fresh, modern takes on American classics. I started to design this pattern with the intention of creating something beautiful with leopard - a classic pattern for the modern woman.

But after going through the motions, I landed on something completely different - and yet, ironically, something that felt so NYC to me. MARU Collections' NYC Blazer is simple yet elegant; a slim fitting jacket through the waist, shoulders, and sleeves crafted with a Cotton/Polyester exterior and a Rayon/Acetate interior. The piece is a perfect staple in a NYC woman’s wardrobe - its classic design features a notch collar, an interior chest pocket, and one front button closure. The jacket is intricate and distinctive - the “brushed spots” or “specks” are all different. It’s the luxury, leopard print I set out to design - but with more of a sharp, geometric, urban feel. I chose deep navy and white for a more updated and classic look. New Yorkers expect black, but let’s be NYC honest - my ladies who prefer muted tonal color, need some color options.
